Travel through forests, over rivers and streams, spend a full afternoon in Old Forge enjoying the outdoors and visiting local shops and restaurants, and then let us take you home. Fun-filled outing for people of all ages! While you’re on the train, visit our café car and try the light and hearty fare as you ride the rails on the Adirondack Railroad!
One-way tickets may only be booked via phone. This is a Round Trip Train ride and transportation to and from Thendara Station is included in the ticket price.

During your time in Old Forge we include transportation services which will have stops to area attractions and venues. Please be advised that there is NO wheelchair lift on the bus that shuttles you to and from Thendara Station.

Coach, and First Class are wheelchair accessible for standard size chairs. The maximum door opening width is 26 inches wide. Please make sure to measure your wheelchair before you make a reservation. Please be advised that we cannot accommodate wheelchairs in our Dome car. If you have any questions please contact the office toll-free at 1-800-819-2291.
Restrooms on the train are not wheelchair accessible, however there are wheelchair accessible restrooms in all of our stations.
What is there to do in Old Forge?
We recommend a visit to the Old Forge tourism website, www.oldforgeny.com or www.experienceoldforge.com for local attractions. There is plenty to see and do!
Can we ride the train up one day, spend the night, and then come back on the train at a later date?
Absolutely! To schedule this, you must book two One Way trips. Please contact the ticket office to book: (315) 724-0700.
How do we get to Old Forge?
The Adirondack Railroad provides a shuttle bus service that will drop passengers off in downtown Old Forge and local attractions. The shuttle bus service is available for the duration of your layover. The shuttle does NOT have a wheelchair lift.
Will the train be hot/cold?
The train is climate controlled, so you should be comfortable. In the summer, there will be an open-air car on the end of the train so you can feel the breeze if the weather is nice!
Is there food on the train?
Our train is equipped with a café car and concessions are available for purchase. Passengers are welcome to bring a small cooler with food and beverages for the day but are not permitted to bring alcohol on the train. Beer and wine are available for purchase in the café car.
Can we switch days?
Reservations may only be switched to a different day, subject to availability. Please be advised that many of our trips do sell out.

A northbound continental breakfast, southbound hors d'oeuvre, as well as a nonalcoholic beverage service are included with each ticket.
